Welcome to our Foundation’s web site, which we hope will prove helpful to a wide range of people interested in Palliative Care.
When our Volunteer Service was formed in 1986, the mobile phone had not been invented, never mind the World Wide Web. We can now provide, via this new communications medium, easy access to information and services available locally.

My family moved to the Central Coast 63 years ago and I have watched and been involved in its development since the days of steam and running boards on motor cars.
I have served on many committees from sporting to industry, including eight years on the Area Health Board which included honorary treasurer. I chaired the Salvation Army advisory board in the delivery of Woodport Retirement and Nursing Home Village.
I have held the role of Chairman of this Foundation since its inception and it has been a privilege to lead the Board in its support of our Volunteers.
In July 1984 there was a community plea for Palliative Care on the Central Coast. In October 1984, a Doctor reported on a conference he attended in another state, which showed standards of community based palliative care that were the highest in Australia. He made a recommendation to the Area Health Service that a Palliative Care service be established on the Central Coast. This resulted in a commitment to
